Jesus left the ancient church with a size strategy for effective ministry. We want to see churches brimming with people who have been brought to Jesus and are being discipled. Thus, it is natural to assume that when it comes to the size of a church, bigger is better. Or is it? Everything in the New Testament was written to a church that meet in someone’s home. The relational ideas it sets forth are designed for a smaller setting. It was while meeting in smaller congregations that the early church turned the Roman world upside down.
