Hebrews 2:9: A Denial of Particular Redemption?
Many throw out Hebrews 2:9 as if it was a clear and compelling refutation of Reformed theology. Too bad folks don’t continue reading the passage!
Hebrews 2:10 “many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation”
Hebrews 2:11 “they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren”
Hebrews 2:12 “I will declare thy name unto my brethren”
Hebrews 2:13 Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
Hebrew 2:14 the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same;
Hebrews 2:15 deliver them who through fear of death
Hebrews 2:16 but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Hebrew 2:17 high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
If a particular people is not is view for Hebrews 2:9 then it can only mean universalism.
